Alexander Associates employ experienced ecologists fully conversant with current legislation. Our aim is to work with Clients and, where on-site ecological constraints have been identified, develop an appropriate strategy in accordance with legislative compliance to minimise any impact to site operations and a project’s programme.

The range of ecological services provided by Alexander Associates includes the following:
  • ecological assessment;
  • ecological constraints mapping;
  • liaison with statutory bodies and regulators;
  • legislative review and advice;
  • expert witness;
  • Phase 1 habitat surveys;
  • protected species surveys including badgers, bats, great crested newts, water voles, otters and reptiles;
  • invasive and noxious weed surveys such as Japanese knotweed and giant hogweed;
  • hedgerow surveys in accordance with the Hedgerow Regulations 1997;
  • ecological management and mitigation, including translocation exercises under appropriate licence;
  • Conservation Management Plans; and reed bed design for drainage systems.
